New Life Church

Otley New Life Church started in 1993, meeting in the rooms above Becks in Kirkgate. There were about 40 people at that time including adults and children, with Paul Lancaster as the leader of the church. The church was a plant out from Aireborough Community Church. Since 1993 they have moved their venue three times, using different locations in Otley. First to the Salvation Army, then to the Civic Centre, before their current location in Mercury Row. They have distributed mince pies at Christmas time to street traders and shopkeepers as well as handing out hot cross buns in the street over Easter with explanatory leaflets.

Their also financially support missionaries living currently in Azerbijan and Thailand.

For the past two years there has been a Christian youth event at the skateboard park. This is set to continue annually. We’d like to host other youth events across the town in conjunction with other churches. Their desire for the future is to make a greater impact on the youth of Otley and have more involvement in the local community.
